A fair warning on C/C++. Many people try to learn C/C++ "the easy way" and ignore the most important thing about the two languages.

Memory management.

If you're going to learn it, learn it the right way. Its not just syntax, but the ability to manage memory on the near-machine level is what makes the two languages so powerful.

Yo! Long time no see!

I'm still a big fan of PHP, but Ruby and Rails are things I've been trying to pick up; they look like fun, and rapid development is never a bad thing. Good for spontaneous projects (which most seem to be nowadays). :P

All I know about C/C++ is basic syntax. I plan on learning this language in college.

Python is a powerful language, especially for graphics. Almost all 3D rendering and visualization software utilize Python in some sort of way because of its potential and flexibility.

It's also good for h4xing. :P I want to learn this language too, but don't know when I'll be able to.
